How we rate

This page explains how operators and products are assessed on jc-church.org, so that you can hold any article on this site to the same standard we try to hold ourselves to.

Assessments are based on published terms, licence information and publicly available sources. That means the starting point for every review is documentation a reader can also open: the operator’s own terms and conditions, bonus rules, payment pages, licence registers and public regulatory notices. Where a claim cannot be traced back to one of those, it does not belong in the assessment.

We do not test games for fairness ourselves; that is the work of accredited testing laboratories. What we can do is report what a laboratory or regulator has published, and say plainly when no such information is available.

The criteria

Use this list to check any article on the site. If a review skips a point, the review is incomplete.

  • Licence and regulatory status. Which authority is named, under which entity the service is offered, and whether that information appears in a public register.
  • Terms and conditions. Whether the full terms are reachable before registration, and whether the clauses that matter — account closure, dormancy, verification, withdrawal limits — are written clearly.
  • Bonus and promotion rules. Wagering requirements, expiry periods, excluded games and maximum conversion, as published by the operator.
  • Payments and withdrawals. Listed methods, stated processing times, fees and any minimum or maximum amounts, quoted from the operator’s own pages.
  • Verification and identity checks. What documents are requested and at what stage of the account lifecycle.
  • Responsible gambling tools. Deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and links to published help resources.
  • Game and software information. Which suppliers are named, and what testing or certification information has been published for them.
  • Complaints and dispute routes. Which complaints body or alternative dispute resolution route is named in the terms.
  • Transparency of the operator’s own figures. Where a figure comes from an operator, the article says so.

Commercial relationships

Some links on this site may be commercial. A commercial relationship with an operator does not change its assessment. The criteria above are applied in the same order and with the same questions regardless of whether a relationship exists, and an unfavourable finding stays in the article.

Corrections

Terms change, licences lapse and payment conditions are rewritten. If you find a statement on this site that no longer matches the operator’s published documents, tell us which page and which claim, and point to the source you are reading. Documented corrections are the quickest way to improve an assessment.
